Sac Taco Fest 2025 🔥
Sac Taco Fest 2025 kicked off our first-ever Battle of the Taco, bringing Sacramento together for a citywide celebration of tacos, local businesses, and community!
The competition started with public nominations before 64 of Sacramento’s favorite taco spots went head-to-head in a bracket-style showdown, with taco lovers across the city voting each week for their favorites.
After an exciting battle, Taqueria Jalisco was crowned the 2025 Battle of the Taco Champion! 🏆 Meanwhile, Yolanda’s Tamales took home the Judges’ Choice title, earning top honors from our panel of judges.
A huge congratulations to our winners and to all the incredible local taquerías that participated and showcased the flavors that make Sacramento’s food scene so special.
Most importantly, thank you, Sacramento! ❤️ Whether you nominated a taco spot, cast a vote, attended the festival, or simply came hungry, you helped make our first Sac Taco Fest one to remember.

Last year’s Sac Taco Fest proudly featured artwork by Sacramento-born Chicana artist Cecelia Perez, known professionally as HeyRuca—whose vibrant work has reached national platforms through collaborations with the Sacramento Kings and San Francisco Giants. Her signature style blends lowrider culture, bold femininity, and emotional storytelling into powerful visuals rooted in Mexican-American identity.
For Cecelia, this contribution to Sac Taco Fest is more than a commission—it’s a tribute. Her mother, Mina Perez, co-founder of the original festival, asked her daughter to lend her art to this year’s celebration. Raised in the heart of North Sacramento, Cecelia grew up surrounded by the very culture this festival uplifts. That culture shaped her as both an artist and a storyteller.
In a full-circle moment, Cecelia’s art now brings new life to a festival her mother helped create—adding layers of meaning, memory, and love. Her work at Sac Taco Fest honors not only tacos, but tradition, family, and the enduring power of Chicana creativity.
